Pisces Season
Soft Power. Deep Waters. Quiet Closure.
18/19 February – 19/20 March
Pisces Season, the season of closure, completion, and wisdom, arrives in perfect timing. Here, our edges soften. Our pace slows. The noise fades just enough for you to hear what has been whispering beneath it all along.
Pisces is our mutable water sign. Fluid. Permeable. Deeply feeling. It governs compassion, intuition, artistry, imagination, spiritual connection, and the gentle wisdom that comes from having seen a few endings before.
There is something ancient about Pisces. Something that understands that not everything needs to be solved, fixed, or forced. Some things simply need to be felt. Witnessed. Allowed.
Traditionally, Pisces governs the 12th house. The house of soul, mysticism, dreams, the unseen realms, retreat, solitude, and self-undoing. The 12th house is where we dissolve the masks we have worn all year. It is where we meet ourselves in private. Where we tend to our mental and spiritual health. Where we confront what we have outgrown.
Pisces carries a sensitivity to what is subtle. To the spaces between words. To the energy in the room. It senses what is unfinished. What is ready to close. What has reached its natural end.
As the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces represents completion. Closure. The last chapter before the wheel begins again in Aries. There is a transcendental quality here. A sense of standing at the shoreline at dusk, watching one tide recede before the next begins to gather. Pisces understands that endings are sacred. That release is not loss, but preparation. That completion is an act of compassion toward your future self.
And yet, Pisces is often misunderstood.
We often focus on the gentle, dreamy, compassionate nature of Pisces. All of these aspects are true. But do not mistake softness for weakness. Pisces is both soft and strong. Within its gentleness lies a penetrating awareness of what is pure and what is not. What is aligned and what is distortion.
Pisces strength is not loud. It does not dominate. It does not force. It holds. It contains. It forgives. It releases. It chooses love without abandoning discernment. It embodies the kind of power that comes from wisdom, from surrender, from deep understanding. It is the strength of the ocean. Yielding at the surface. Engulfing beneath.
Pisces and the 12th House
The 12th house is often called the house of undoing, but I prefer to think of it as the house of unbinding. It is where we unravel the stories that no longer serve us. Where we let go of the identities we have been clinging to. Where we rest from the performance of being someone we are not.
Pisces here asks you to retreat, even if only internally. To pay attention to your dreams. To notice what your body is communicating through mood and energy. To spend time alone not as avoidance, but as devotion. This is a season for tending the invisible threads of your life. Your spiritual hygiene. Your inner world. The quiet griefs. The quiet gratitudes.
There is artistry in Pisces. Creativity that does not always seek applause. Sometimes it just wants expression. Paint. Write. Move. Pray. Cry. Sit near water. Let your imagination wander. Let yourself be open enough to receive inspiration, but boundaried enough to protect your energy.
My private Human Design and Astrology Mentorship is now open. For the student who feels called to go further. To study with devotion. To refine their craft and build real confidence in their reading and synthesis of these systems. There are only a handful of places remaining.
Pisces as the Last Sign of the Zodiac
Every zodiac year ends in Pisces season, which means every year asks you to surrender something before you begin again.
Pisces is the final exhale before the inhale of Aries. The final new moon of the astrological year falls here. A liminal space. A threshold. Not quite the old story, not yet the new. This is not the time for aggressive manifesting. It is a time for dreaming. For visioning softly. For allowing intuition to lead rather than willpower.
With the Sun infused with Piscean energy during this season, things can feel floaty. Nebulous. Psychic senses heightened. Boundaries thinner. You may feel more tired. More emotional. More creative. Pisces teaches us that sensitivity is a strength, not an issue to solve.
Pisces, Strength and Power
Pisces knows that true power does not need to prove itself.
There is a moral clarity in evolved Pisces. A devotion to what is good, light, and true. It carries deep compassion, but it also carries discernment. Pisces can feel victimisation and transmute it into freedom. It can walk through crisis and emerge with wisdom. It can hold universal love without dissolving into naivety.
There is courage in choosing forgiveness. There is power in walking away without resentment. There is strength in feeling everything and still remaining open.
Pisces does not rush. It does not compete. It does not fight for attention. It simply knows. And that knowing is unshakeable.
The Gates in Pisces Season
During Pisces Season, the Sun moves through Gates 55, 37, 63, 22, 36, and 25. Each one adds texture to the archetype. Even if you don’t have your Sun in any of these gates, look to see if you do have the gate activated. It could be that another planet is there, adding this Piscean flavour to your design.
Gate 55 speaks to the individual experience of abundance. Emotional spirit. The knowing that true prosperity begins within. This is the Pisces who empowers others by embodying freedom in their own emotional landscape.
The Individual Knowing. If you have this gate defined, you are here to empower and activate through your emotional authenticity. Your freedom becomes permission for others.
Gate 37 carries tribal themes of friendship, belonging, and the distribution of resources. This is the Pisces who creates community. Who understands that care is a form of leadership.
The Tribal Heart. If you have this gate activated in your design, your strength lies in loyalty, care, and creating environments where people feel held and valued.
Gate 63 brings doubt and scepticism. Questions. The need to test what is true. This is the Pisces who does not blindly believe, but refines their faith through inquiry.
The Logical Mystic. You question. You refine. Your faith is intelligent, built on tested truths.
Gate 22 is grace. Emotional openness. Social charm when the mood is right. The ability to create intimacy through presence. This is the Pisces who mesmerises without trying.
The Graceful Leader. If you have this gate activated in your chart, you can have a profound impact on the people around you when your mood is right.
Gate 36 moves through cycles of crisis and growth. Emotional intensity that, when matured, becomes wisdom. This is the Pisces who has lived a few lifetimes in one and can guide others through stormy waters.
The Emotional Alchemist. You are not afraid of intensity. You turn chaos into understanding.
Gate 25 is universal love. Innocence. A centering in the spirit of the self. This is the Pisces who remembers that we are all connected.
The Centered Spirit. You embody universal love in a grounded, unwavering way. Your presence itself recalibrates others.
Working with the Energy of Pisces Season
There are so many ways to work with the energy of this season. Firstly, embrace Piscean themes: imagination, creativity, spirituality, compassion, healing, completion.
If there are loops ready to be closed, this is a beautiful season to do so.
Embrace more softness. Creativity just for the sake of it. Painting, writing, playing music. Embrace your inner child here. How would you create and express just for you?
Nurture your inner world. Lean into your practices. Meditation. Breathwork. Connection with your body.

This speaks to me as a Piscean – I’ve been confronting what I’ve outgrown and what has reached its natural end. After a year of cracking open and the ending of a 7 year cycle. I’m deep in the energy of preparation after lots of release and this has involved discerning how I’m moving forward.
I found the gates interesting as I have a defined Gate 55 and 37 in my chart and I didn’t really understand these before your article. But they resonate a lot with me and the work I am doing in preparation for how my business is evolving.
Interestingly, when looking at working with the energy of this Pisces season, my 4th house is governed by Pisces which refers to psychological roots. I began this year referring to it as a year of Rooting - so all spot on for me!
This was simply beautiful read, I could feel all of your words resonating with my soul, thank you for sharing xxx
